For claimants of CFSIC, including those who are potential claimants, here’s what you should expect when an examination is conducted of your foundation by a CFSIC-certified professional:
- You should be able to easily and efficiently contact a certified professional in your area by reaching out to that professional here (PDF).
- Certified professionals should respond promptly and effectively to all requests for assistance.
- If a certified professional cannot accommodate a homeowner’s schedule for a visual examination, that certified professional must be able and willing to refer the homeowner to another CFSIC-certified professional by way of recommendation.
- Written reports of a visual examination’s findings and conclusions must be rendered promptly, and the certified professional must afford the homeowner or other person sufficient opportunity to answer questions or seek any clarification needed on the substance of the written report.
- You should expect and receive ethical and truthful conduct by CFSIC-certified professionals.
- A report containing clearly written and fully supported conclusions and findings that are not affected by or contingent upon the results of core testing or any other non-visual examination process.
The Superintendent is interested in receiving any comments from homeowners about the way in which CFSIC-certified professionals conduct themselves and carry out the process of visual examination.
