On June 11, 2019, CFSIC conducted a day-long home inspector certification course involving more than 300 pages of material on the science of concrete, and aimed at providing home inspectors (as well as engineers) with the knowledge and the tools they need to evaluate concrete foundations. Read more

I have countersigned 182 Participation Agreements since January 10. This means that foundations are now being replaced, and we have made commitments to replace many more in the future. Read more

We expect CFSIC’s known claim reserves to reach at least $90 million by the end of our fiscal year. What this means is that we have a growing body of evidence and knowledge as to where the crumbling foundations crisis exists, in what towns, and in some cases on what streets within those towns. I am pleased to report that, thanks to quick and helpful intervention by Governor Lamont and his staff, and by DOH Commissioner Mosquera-Bruno and her staff, CFSIC should be receiving its next allotment of $20M within the next few business days. Read more
Beginning on April 29, CFSIC will be unable to enter into any further Participation Agreements with affected homeowner claimants until it receives the proceeds of its April 4th Bond Commission allotment of $20 million. Read more
In an effort to facilitate more applications from affected homeowners, CFSIC will be inviting CT-licensed home inspectors, as well as CT-licensed engineers, to become certified by CFSIC to conduct visual foundation examinations on behalf of homeowners. Read more
