What’s This Thing Called a “Severity Class Code”?…

If you are a frequent reader of this page, you know that we are encouraging the victims of this crisis to apply to us as soon as possible.

But this foundation visual inspection…this vital step in making your claim “Active”…what does it reveal? What is it all about?

CFSIC’s Severity Class coding system is actually pretty simple. There are only three possible Severity Class codes…and a single way to simply say “cannot be assigned.” So there are only four criteria for the evaluation of your foundation.

There isn’t a Severity Class code “0.” Any certified professional working with CFSIC does not have the option to remain silent on what they are seeing. They must put it in the report. It can only be one of four choices. That’s it.

The fact that you may have a core sample analysis as well is not relevant to CFSIC’s Underwriting and Claims Management Guidelines: we don’t pay claims based on a petrographic or other analysis, because we can’t.

Before you have your foundation visual inspection…before that CT-licensed professional engineer or CFSIC-certified home inspector shows up at your door…here’s where you go.

It’s all there. It will be supported by measurements and photographic evidence. Any professional inspecting your foundation also has resources they can turn to, to confirm what they’re seeing or to weigh in on the evidence.

Understand what your report will reveal before you get it. It will make all the difference between you being in line for a foundation remediation or you not being in line before the sunset date of June 30, 2030 at 5:00 PM.

Above all else, apply now.
