1,750 PAs Issued…

A little known fact in the CFSIC program is that the Superintendent of CFSIC personally signs every Participation Agreement (“PA”) issued, committing claim funds to the remediation of a crumbling foundation.

Every day CFSIC staff put a PA in front of the Superintendent for his review, including a verified copy of the approved construction contract, the contractor’s worksheet, and other supporting data. And when we say “every day” we mean that…the Superintendent signs PAs seven days a week. The data he must review may include copies of trusts that may be in existence on the home in question. Many times, especially these days, the PA can include a Residency Addendum, requiring the person signing to make the home CFSIC remediates their primary residence for a minimum of 12 months after remediation.

This week we reached the number 1,750 PAs personally signed by the Superintendent.

That’s 1,750 families where the equity will be restored in that home, and the home will be safe to inhabit once more. With each of these 1,750 PAs, there is the promise of the restoration of a town’s Grand List and the return of and support for vital services that the town provides to all its citizens.

But here’s what’s really important…that’s 1,750 times that the system has worked…and as we all know at CFSIC, what makes the system work is infrastructure. Infrastructure is the process by which things are checked, double-checked, and then triple-checked, before taxpayer funds are committed.
